Woman killed in Stowe Twp. shooting

STOWE TWP. — A 22-year-old woman was shot and killed in Stowe Township early Saturday morning.

The Allegheny County Police Department is investigating the incident, which occurred in the area of Tunnel Way and Island Avenue around 4:30 a.m.

Police said 22-year-old Madison Gilroy was found shot in the upper torso, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim, a 53-year-old man, was later found with a non-life threatening grazing wound to the leg.

Evidence at the scene suggests Gilroy was not the intended target, police said.
