Woman smashes door during armed robbery at local gas station; 2 teens arrested after police chase

CANONSBURG, Pa. — Surveillance video captured a woman smashing a glass door during an armed robbery of a Canonsburg gas station early Wednesday morning.

Police said a woman walked into the Gas N Go on Euclid Avenue around 5:15 a.m. and demanded the clerk give her money. Video shows the clerk casually walked over and grabbed the phone to call 911 and walked out the door.

At that point, police said the woman shoved cigarettes and other items into her bag, ripped out the cash register drawer and then began to leave.

Video shows the store clerk was blocking the front door with his foot to try to prevent the woman from getting away. She tried to push it open before ramming the door repeatedly until it shattered -- so she ducked under and through it.

Two teens suspected in the armed robbery were arrested after a police chase, officials said.

Both suspects were tracked down in a silver SUV that was reported stolen in Canonsburg, police said.

Officers tried to pull the SUV over in the city of Washington, but the driver sped off, leading police on a chase that ended near the Washington County Airport.

The man and woman ditched the SUV and tried to run from police. The woman was quickly captured, police said.

An officer from the Trinity School District and his K9 “Hiller” tracked the man to a drain pipe in a wooded area off of More Road.

He was taken into custody.

Inside the stolen SUV, police found a cash register drawer. Investigators believe it is the same one that was stolen from the convenience store Wednesday morning.

However, police said the woman who actually held the gas station at gunpoint was not inside that stolen vehicle. She is still wanted by police.
