PITTSBURGH — A woman was stabbed after getting off a bus late Thursday night in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights neighborhood, authorities said.
The woman told police, who were called shortly after 11 p.m., that she got off the bus in the 100 block of Penfort Street. She was stabbed in the shoulder.
One woman told Channel 11 she happened to be in the area and saw the victim walking down the street with the knife still in her app.
"It had to be at least, no lie, like 3 inches or 4 inches. She was walking up the sidewalk holding her side as if she got stabbed in the side. When she turned you Could see it stabbing out the side of her back," she said.
The stabbing allegedly took place after a fight between the victim and suspect on the bus.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital and she is expected to be OK.
The person who stabbed the woman fled. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information to come forward.
