World Mental Health Day: Here are some mental health resources in the Pittsburgh area

PITTSBURGH — The World Health Organization recognizes World Mental Health Day each year on Oct. 10.

This year, we’re all facing additional challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic including illness, job loss, isolation, and anxiety about the future. In the months and years ahead, the need for mental health treatment and support will likely increase, according to the WHO.

That’s why the goal of this year’s World Mental Health Day is increased investment in mental health.

On Oct. 10, the WHO will host a global online advocacy event on mental health. You can watch it HERE. You can also learn more about World Mental Health Day and mental health initiatives by the WHO.
