PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh region is ranked among the worst in the nation for air pollution, according to an annual report from the American Lung Association.
The “State of the Air” report ranks the Pittsburgh region 8th for particle pollution out of 184 metropolitan areas.

The region is ranked 29 for high ozone days out of 228 metropolitan areas and 17 for 24-hour particle pollution out of 186 metropolitan areas.
Allegheny, Beaver, Armstrong and Washington counties received an ‘F’ grade in the report. Westmoreland County received a ‘D.’
