Most Inbound Weekend Construction To Wrap Before Steelers Game

PITTSBURGH,None — Several road projects are scheduled for this weekend. The majority of inbound work, however, will be wrapped up before the Steelers take on the Ravens at Heinz Field on Sunday night.

Below is a summary of the major closings and restrictions this weekend:

I-79 Single lane traffic on I-79 in both directions in the area between the Cranberry and Wexford will occur this weekend from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, Nov. 4-5. Crews will be milling, paving and line painting. Delays should be expected. Southbound restrictions will begin first on Friday evening.

Single lane traffic will occur in both directions from Washington County to ½ mile north of the Bridgeville interchange from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Parkway East The outbound (eastbound) Parkway East (I-376) will be reduced to single lane in Monroeville from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. The outbound off-ramp to Plum/northbound Route 48 (Exit 84B) will also be closed. Crews will be paving the ramp and the outbound Parkway East between the Monroeville off-ramp and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Signs will be posted to guide motorists during the Plum outbound off-ramp closures.

I-279 Parkway North A single lane closure will occur on northbound I-279/Parkway North in the area of the Perrysville interchange near the Perrysville Park-N-Ride lot from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday. Crews will be removing and replacing high-mast light poles.

Parkway West Single lane closures in both directions on the Parkway West (I-376) in the area of the Carnegie interchange (Exit 65) will occur from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday. Crews will be washing the overhead ramp from Carnegie to the outbound (westbound) Parkway West. All ramps will remain open. Both directions will not be restricted simultaneously. Delays and possible stop conditions should be expected.

Route 50 The following restrictions will occur: • Single lane traffic will occur in each direction on Route 50 shifted to one side of the roadway at the bridge over Chartiers Creek between Collier Avenue in Heidelberg and Boden Avenue in Carnegie from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 continuously through 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 7. • Route 50 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction shifted to one side of the roadway on the bridge over Chartiers Creek in the area of the Thoms Run Road intersection from 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3 continuously through 6 a.m. on Monday. • Single lane traffic shifted to one side of the roadway will also occur on Greentree Road at the bridge over Chartiers Creek (near the intersection with Route 50 across from Walgreens by the Exxon station) from 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 continuously through 6 a.m. on Monday.
