Single Lane Restrictions, Road Closures Planned For Weekend

PITTSBURGH,None — PennDOT is reminding motorists several highway and bridge improvements will be occurring this weekend. Below is a summary of the major closings and restrictions:

Parkway East (I-376)

Crews will be sawing and sealing concrete patches in various locations between the Grant/Stanwix Street and Wilkinsburg/Forest Hills interchanges 8 p.m. Friday night through 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

Guiderail work willbe done in both directions between the Edgewood-Swissvale and Monroeville interchanges.

Liberty Tunnel

The Liberty Tunnel will be closed in both directions from 10 p.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

I-579 Crosstown Boulevard

Single lane traffic in both directions on I-579 (Crosstown Boulevard) between the Liberty Bridge and Forbes Avenue will occur from 8 p.m. Friday continuously through 6 a.m. Monday. Crews will be painting overhead ramps.

I-79

Traffic in both directions on I-79 will be reduced to a single lane from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday between the Neville Island Bridge and the Crafton/Route 60 interchange. Crews will be concrete patching.

Parkway West

Single lane traffic on the outbound (westbound) Parkway West (I-376) at the Carnegie Interchange will occur from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday. Crews will conduct routine inspection activities on the bridge that carries the outbound Parkway West over Whiskey Run.

Clairton Glassport Bridge The Clairton Glassport Bridge (Route 2038) in the City of Clairton and Glassport Borough will be closed to traffic from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday. Crews will be replacing expansion joints on the bridge over the weekend.
