1 dead, 7 injured after airport shuttle bus rollover in Seattle

SEATAC, Wash. — One person was killed and seven others were injured after a shuttle bus rolled over and ejected passngers near Sea-Tac Airport.

Investigators said the crash involved a Marriott shuttle bus and a single-occupant vehicle.

During a news conference, King County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Cynthia Sampson said the bus was heading north when a car heading south crossed the median, causing the bus to roll.

Sampson said one person died, two people were taken to Harborview Medical Center, two were taken to Highline Medical Center, two were taken to Valley Medical Center and one person was treated at the scene.

"It's going to be very chaotic for a while for the commuters in the area," Sampson said.

Streets were closed and some light rail routes were halted until further notice.

Drivers are advised to take alternate routes as the investigation remains ongoing.
