HIGH POINT, N.C. — A missing North Carolina toddler has been found safe after a man stole a car late Sunday night with the child still inside, according to authorities.
Police said 1-year-old Legend Goodwine and the family's gold Acura TL were found Monday morning in Davidson County by the Sheriff's Office.
Legend is safe and in the care of officers until he can be reunited with his family.
According to authorities, Legend was in the backseat Sunday of his family’s car in a parking lot on Main Street in High Point when a stranger got into the vehicle and sped off. Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Legend after the theft.
Officers continued to search Monday for the suspect, who is described as a white man wearing a blue shirt, jeans and a white mesh and grey hat.

Authorities asked that anyone with information on the case call 911.
