PHOENIX — A pair of Arizona police officers helped rescue two kittens that were soaked with gasoline and thrown from a plastic bag, authorities said.
The two members of the Phoenix Police Department found the kittens and took them to the Arizona Humane Society for care, the Arizona Republic reported.

These two kittens had been soaked with gasoline and thrown out of a plastic bag. Officers Bagnall and Friday rescued them from the area of 35th Ave. & Dunlap.

The person believed to be responsible for putting the kittens in the bag was described by police as a woman, approximately 50 years old, with dreadlocks, KSAZ reported. The woman was also wearing black shorts and a black shirt, the television station reported.
The woman has not been located, KNXV reported.
