COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A Colorado woman picked up an injured bobcat and put it in her SUV, unrestrained, next to her child's car seat -- and now authorities are warning other parents not to do the same.
A Colorado Parks and Wildlife Officer responded Thursday morning to a call about in injured bobcat in Colorado Springs, the CPW's Southeast Region tweeted. The officer found a woman had put the "mortally wounded" bobcat in her SUV, feet away from a child in a car seat.

No one was injured, but CPW officials admonished the woman and warned others to never pick up wild animals. Officials tweeted a picture of the big cat.

The CPW officer removed the bobcat. Officials told KCNC-TV the bobcat had been hit by a car and its back legs were paralyzed, so it was "humanely euthanized."
