LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A Florida man cleared a canal like “The Dukes of Hazzard” before crashing the vehicle Wednesday and running from the scene, investigators said.
Authorities said Robert Foley, 35, jumped the water in a Nissan Versa and kept going until he hit a parked truck, WFTX reported.

Investigators said that "based on the physical evidence it was apparent the Nissan was traveling at such a great speed that it vaults/airborne and cleared the water canal/ditch in a fashion only to be described similar to what was depicted in the 'Dukes of Hazzard,'" WFTX reported.
Foley then fled the scene. Helicopters were used to find him.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a broken back, WBBH reported.
Foley was later arrested and charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run, according to jail records.
His license was previously revoked, WBBH reported.
