Girl petitions company that makes green army men to include women in toy mix

Have you ever noticed that there are no green army women fighting alongside the green army men toys commonly found in toy aisles and dollar stores?

A 6-year-old girl did, and she is doing something about it.

Vivian Lord of Little Rock, Arkansas, was looking for a green army woman when she was playing and wrote letters to three companies, asking them to add females to their ranks, Military Times reported.

Her letter explains that her friend's mother is in the Army, too, and that the pink version of the classic toy isn't enough of a change since the figures are all male just cast in pink plastic, CNN reported.

Even her mother didn't realize that there were no women in the mix of Army toys, CNN reported.

BMC Toys was on Vivian's mailing list and Jeff Imel responded, saying that he's been thinking of drafting some female figurines for years, Military Times reported.

Imel promised Vivian in the BMC Toys blog that the company will research the possibly of making a line of Little Green Army Women.

They've even made some concept art for the potential toys.
