Police responded to a call Aug. 2 to investigate a child abuse complaint, KNXV reported. Police said they found a teenage girl with a bruised, swollen face, bruises to her abdomen and scratch marks on her neck, the television station reported.

According to a police report, Luchembe said he "became upset" because he asked his daughter to save him a slice of pizza, KTVK reported. Luchembe only got one piece, police said.

According to court records, the girl said Luchembe splashed water in her face, slapped her "a couple of times" and put his hands on her neck, KNXV reported.

Police also said Luchembe pushed his daughter to the ground, punched her in the stomach, pulled her hair, spat on her and put her head in the sink, according to court records. Luchembe also allegedly punched the girl in the face, according to police.

Luchembe was taken into custody. He will appear in court Monday, according to Maricopa County court records.
