'SNL' takes on Mueller report with help from Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin

NEW YORK — "Saturday Night Live" offered its take on the recently completed Mueller report – and Attorney General William Barr's summary of it – with the help of a special guest star.

In Saturday's cold open, actor Robert De Niro reprised his role as special counsel Robert Mueller, who submitted his report about possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election to the Justice Department on March 22.

The sketch – which also featured Alec Baldwin as President Donald Trump, Aidy Bryant as Barr and Kate McKinnon as Rudy Giuliani – began with De Niro's Mueller declaring: "I am submitting these 380 pages."

The camera then cut to Bryant's Barr.

"I am writing almost four pages," she said while typing a letter.

Meanwhile, Baldwin's Trump, tweeting from his cellphone, added: "I am reading zero pages."

De Niro-as-Mueller said he wanted his findings to "be made public with a few redactions," Bryant's Barr interjected, "Hella redactions!"

"We're going to black out everything except for the words 'no' and 'collusion,'" the fake Trump added.

At one point, McKinnon's Giuliani appeared in the Oval Office as "Trump" celebrated.

"Rudy, can you believe it? We got off scot-free," Baldwin's Trump said.

"I know, I know," replied McKinnon-as-Giuliani. "I guess I was a legal genius the whole time, and all my mind games worked!"
