ATLANTA — Police are looking for two men who they say attacked an officer who was trying to break up a fight and stole his gun and radio.
The incident happened Saturday evening outside of an Atlanta gas station, according to Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Brown. When the officer arrived, he saw a man in an altercation with the store clerk, she said.
The officer tried to take the man into custody, but a second man jumped him from behind, Brown said.
“During the altercation, the two suspects managed to get away with the officer’s gun and radio,” she said.
The officer received minor injuries during the struggle with the suspects. Police are searching for the men in the area.
