VAN BUREN, Ark. — Three people, including a pregnant woman and a toddler, died after gunfire erupted in Arkansas, authorities said.
According to KHBS and KNWA, the incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday on Williams Street in Van Buren. Van Buren police responded to a reported shooting and found a 23-year-old pregnant woman and 2-year-old boy dead from gunshot wounds, KHBS reported. A third person, identified as the woman’s husband, also was hurt and died at a nearby hospital, authorities said.
Van Buren police Sgt. Jonathan Ware told KNWA that investigators are “not actively seeking” any suspects and do not believe the public is in danger.
No further information was immediately available.
