Police: Man hides in theater, helps himself to food

An Alabama man took self-isolation just a little too far, according to authorities.

Police in Mobile arrested Raif Carl Mitchell, 33, on Tuesday morning at an AMC Theater in Mobile, WKRG-TV reported. According to police, Mitchell had been camping out inside the theater, which was closed due to the coronavirus, and helping himself to snacks and bottled beverages, the television station reported.

According to the Mobile Police Department, Mitchell had been inside the theater for several days, WALA reported. Officers were called to the theater around 8:33 a.m. Monday and discovered Mitchell lying down in one of the theaters, the television station reported.

Mitchell was charged with third-degree burglary, WKRG reported.
