Multiple residents called Montclair Township Animal Control about the animal with the Halloween decoration stuck to its head, United Press International reported.

Video shows officers capture the deer in a large net so they could remove the pumpkin. After safely removing it from the deer’s head, the animal tore through the net and escaped.

“We’ll need another net, but at least the deer’s free,” one of the officers said in the video.
