According to WKYC-TV and WOIO-TV, the attraction announced Wednesday that snowy owls Frost and Cirrus recently welcomed two babies, or owlets.

“For the first time in our history, two snowy owls have hatched!” the zoo wrote in a Facebook post about the new arrivals, which hatched July 31 and Aug. 3.

The unnamed owlets “are both doing well” and under their parents’ care in the zoo’s snowy owl habitat, according to the post. Animal care workers have not yet determined the sex of the babies, the zoo said.

“Barricades have placed in front of the habitat to allow our new family some privacy as they adjust to being a family of four,” the post read.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature considers snowy owls vulnerable. About 14,000 to 28,000 mature snowy owls remain in the wild, and their numbers are decreasing, according to the organization’s website.
