A bald eagle injured by a vehicle two months ago is soaring through the skies after making a complete recovery.
“Back to the wild!” Henrico County Police said in a Facebook post.
The bird was injured on March 20 when it was scavenging a deer carcass in eastern Henrico County, police said.
The person who hit the eagle remained at the scene and called authorities, WRIC-TV reported. The eagle was taken to The Wildlife Center of Virginia for rehabilitation, according to the television station.
On Wednesday the bird was given a clean bill of health and was released back into the wild from the Berkeley Plantation in Charles City, police said on the department’s Facebook post.
