OAK PARK, Ill. — On the eve of what would have been her 100th birthday, beloved actress Betty White was honored by her hometown Sunday.
Hundreds of well-wishers from Oak Park, Illinois, and beyond gathered in front of the Classic Cinemas Lake Theatre, the Chicago Tribune reported. A large sign that read “Thank you for being a friend,” and the theme song from White’s NBC situation comedy, “The Golden Girls” were performed as Oak Park Village President Vicki Scaman proclaimed Monday as Betty White Day, the newspaper reported.
