NEW YORK — “Days of our Lives” is not only getting a spinoff, but the long-running soap opera will enter the streaming arena to boot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, Peacock, ordered the five-part “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem,” that will feature “past and present fan favorites who are caught up in a mystery involving stolen jewels.”
The limited series’ cast includes current “Days” stars Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Jackée Harry, James Reynolds, Victoria Konefal, Robert Scott Wilson, Billy Flynn, Lamon Archey and Sal Stowers.
Meanwhile, former castmember Lisa Rinna will reprise her role as Billie Reed, and additional casting will be announced later, THR reported.
As its name suggests, “Beyond Salem” will take place away from the fictional town of Salem, Illinois, and follow characters traveling for a long weekend, visiting Zurich, New Orleans, Phoenix or Miami as they’re caught up in the jewelry heist.
“Days of our Lives” has been renewed through September 2023, its 58th season.
