“The only super hero present was him,” the agency stated, calling his survival “nothing short of a miracle.”

According to WDRB, the child slipped away from his family while hiking near Princess Arch at the Red River Gorge at around 2 p.m., and that’s when he fell.

Rescue crews confirmed that the boy’s father acted quickly, scrambling down the cliff face to reach his son, whom he carried to Highway 715 after crossing Red River and a bridge, WLKY reported.

The boy was examined by first responders, found to be unharmed and reunited with his parents, WDRB reported.

According to The Associated Press, the sandstone arches and towering cliffs southeast of Lexington, Kentucky, attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
