Officials have not said what caused the gear to break, leaving the front of the plane on the ground, Express reported.

British Airways said there were no passengers on board since the flight was a freight service but did confirm that the plane did suffer damage.

The aircraft is eight years old and has 154 economy, 25 premium economy and 35 business class seats. But instead of carrying people, the plane has been flying cargo due to coronavirus pandemic travel restrictions, Independent reported.

The plane was last in the air on June 16 on a trip from Moscow, according to FlightRadar24.com and Express.

British Airways is investigating, The Sun reported.
