CMA Awards nominees announced; find out who made the list

The nominees for the 2020 Country Music Association Awards were announced Tuesday.

Luke Combs and Carly Pearce appeared at the Grand Olde Opry to announce some of those vying for the 54th annual awards ceremony.

Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert are making history as they compete for the entertainer of the year. It’s the first time in 20 years when two women are going up for the award, CMT reported.

The last time was when Faith Hill and the band formerly known as The Dixie Chicks, now The Chicks, were nominated in 2000. The trio ended up winning. It also happened in 1979 when Crystal Gayle and Barbara Mandrell both were nominated, CMT reported.

The ceremony will air on Nov. 11. Tickets won’t be sold due to the coronavirus pandemic and will be limited to essential personnel only, the Tennessean reported.
