Companies, groups offer free perks when patrons get coronavirus vaccine

Groups and companies are offering perks for those who roll up their sleeves and get the COVID-19 shot.

The Atlanta Braves will have the vaccine available to anyone eligible who wants one when they play the Philadelphia Phillies Friday and Saturday, The Associated Press reported. They will also get two free tickets to a future Braves game. Fans are being asked to preregister here, but if there are supplies available, walk-ups may be accepted too. They must also have a ticket to the game when the vaccines are dispensed.

The NFL is offering 50 vaccinated football fans tickets to the Super Bowl.

West Virginia and Maryland are paying people to get vaccinated.

In New Jersey, the state is running a promotion called “Shot and a Beer” where local breweries will give a free beer to residents who are old enough and get their first coronavirus vaccine this month, The Washington Post reported. A similar event is happing in Washington, D.C. at the Kennedy Center, where anyone who shows up for a Johnson & Johnson vaccine will get a free drink.

Free drinks were also offered in New Orleans and Connecticut.

In Randolph County, Illinois, a shooting and recreation complex offered 100 free targets for trap, skeet or sporting clay shooting when visitors had their vaccine.

Memphis is raffling off a new car, including a Chevrolet Camero or a Nissan Altima, Fox 13 Memphis reported.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, so far there have been nearly 252 million doses dispensed.
