Health experts say you need to wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water to get them clean, CNET reported. Songs like “Happy Birthday” give you the 20-second timer needed. but it can be boring to keep singing, or humming, the same song all the time.
But how do you find the perfect hand-washing song? Well, there’s an app for that.
A 17-year-old web developer from the U.K. created the app “Wash Your Lyrics” that uses a National Health Service infographic that is matched with other songs, according to Huffington Post.
“I wanted to make the poster for all my favorite songs, so I wrote a script to automate the entire process, which was a lot more fun than copying and pasting the lyrics into Photoshop,” William Gibson told the Huffington Post.
The program gets the lyrics from Genius and has a little wiggle room for the exact timing, CNET reported.
Gibson’s app caught the attention of singers as well as leaders in the U.K.
