According to The Associated Press and WRC-TV, the incident occurred Aug. 10 as Michael Haak was piloting a Southwest flight from Philadelphia to Orlando, Florida, federal investigators said in a court document. Although the document did not provide specifics about the incident, it alleged that the pilot “intentionally committed an act of lewd, indecent and obscene exposure of his genitals in a public place,” WRC reported.

A spokeswoman for the airline told the AP that no passengers saw the alleged lewd exposure, and only the pilots knew what had occurred.

“The pilot in question is no longer employed by Southwest Airlines and departed the company last year prior to us becoming aware of the matter,” a Southwest spokeswoman said in a statement to WRC. “The event was recently brought to our attention, and we’ve cooperated with the appropriate outside agencies as they investigate.”
