Tulsa police told KOKI that a family was playing Monopoly and drinking alcohol on Saturday evening when John Armstrong and his stepfather got into an argument. During the argument, the pair knocked over the game board and furniture before a family member told them to take the fight outside.

Police said Armstrong suffered a cut to his head, before he pulled out a pistol and chased his stepfather and stepsister down the street while pointing the gun at them, KOKI reported.

Armstrong allegedly admitted to police that he fired one round “at the ground,” because he wanted his stepfather and stepsister to stay away from his mother, police told KOKI.

Officers said that when they arrived at the scene, they saw Monopoly money and game pieces scattered around the living room. Despite a search, police were not able to find the pistol, KOKI reported.

Armstrong was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the Tulsa County Jail on a $25,000 bond, according to online jail records.
