Former MLB star Darryl Strawberry says missing granddaughter was found safe

Former MLB star Darryl Strawberry said his granddaughter went missing and reached out on social media to ask the public to find her.

Update 7:46 a.m. Sept. 24: Thursday evening, Diamond Strawberry, Darryl Strawberry’s daughter, announced on Instagram that MyLisa was found safe. She credited social media for her return.

Strawberry’s original post has since been deleted.

Darryl Strawberry also spread the news that his grandaughter had been found.

Original report: “This is our granddaughter MyLisa who is missing right now!” Strawberry, 59, wrote in a caption he posted to Instagram. “Please, please pray for us, as we desperately need your prayers! Thank you!”

MyLisa Strawberry, 14, is the daughter of Diamond Strawberry, Darryl Strawberry’s daughter and former cast member of “Love & Hip Hop,” according to Bleacher Report. According to TMZ, MyLisa Strawberry was last seen in Nevada.

The teen, who was born in 2007, was last seen Wednesday at about 7:15 a.m. local time, according to the Instagram post. She was wearing all black and sported a pair of black-and-white Jordan sneakers.

Diamond Strawberry also posted about her daughter on Instagram with a description of her clothing.

Darryl Strawberry, an eight-time All-Star, played 17 seasons in the major leagues and is best known for his time during the mid-1980s with the New York Mets. Strawberry won a World Series title with the Mets in 1986 and also earned a pair of championship rings with the New York Yankees in 1996 and 1999.

Darryl Strawberry also had a major role in ESPN’s “Once Upon a Time in Queens” documentary about the 1986 Mets that aired last week, according to Bleacher Report.
