Georgia governor, first lady quarantine after coronavirus exposure

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and his wife Marty are in quarantine after recently being exposed to the coronavirus by Rep. Drew Ferguson, who tested positive Thursday.

Update 3:19 p.m. EDT Oct. 30: The Kemps tested negative for the coronavirus Friday.

Gov. Kemp is not showing any symptoms and plans to continue to quarantine. It is unclear if the first lady will remain in isolation too.

“At this time, the first lady is not known to have been exposed to a confirmed case," Kemp said on social media.

Original report: The Kemps took a coronavirus test on Friday, WSB-TV reported. The results have not been released.

Ferguson has mild symptoms. He said he is in quarantine and will work from home.

“While the vast majority of my recent schedule has been virtual, we are beginning the process of reaching out to anyone I have seen in recent days,” Ferguson said on social media.
