HOUSTON — A 5-year-old girl is recovering after her older brother accidentally shot her in a Texas apartment, authorities said.
According to KTRK and KPRC, the incident occurred early Tuesday at the Haverstock Hills apartment complex in Harris County. The children’s mother said the 6- or 7-year-old boy was playing with a firearm, which discharged, striking his sister’s leg, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to recover, KTRK reported.
No further information was immediately available.
