The Philipsburg Fire Department was called around 4 a.m. to the Cold Stream Dam to find the Jeep idling in the spillway with the driver still inside, WTAJ reported.

“Upon contact, the operator became uncooperative and attempted to drive the still running vehicle while responders were checking for additional occupants,” Hope Fire Company said on social media.

Firefighters then waited for law enforcement officials to arrive. Pennsylvania State Patrol troopers were able to remove the driver without further incident.

Images posted on social media show the Jeep apparently broke through a railing and landed in tire-deep water in the spillway. The SUV was later towed from the spillway.

It is unclear what, if any, charges will be filed.
