According to a report by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, “an intoxicated male stumbled over the railing at Lucas Oil Stadium,” at about 10 p.m. EDT and was taken to an area hospital in “stable condition,” the Indianapolis Star reported.

Mötley Crüe took the stage 30 minutes earlier on the 25th stop of the band’s North American tour.

On Wednesday, public information officer Samone Burris said the man was “awake and breathing” when police reached him at the concert,” the Star reported.

“Additional information I have received is the adult male was extremely intoxicated and leaned over the railing, at which point he fell,” Burris told reporters.

Monica Whitfield Brase, a spokesperson for the stadium and the Indiana Convention Center, said officials “were aware” of the man’s injuries.

“Although we do not know the extent of the person’s injuries, the individual appeared to be communicating with paramedics on site prior to leaving the stadium,” Brase said in a statement. “At this time we do not believe other guests or employees in the Stadium were involved in the incident.”

Shawn Graves, who attended the concert, said he had been watching the man “all night” and said he was stumbling while attempting to climb stairs on the upper level, WXIN-TV reported. The man fell approximately 30 feet, according to the television station.

“It was a trip -- it was definitely traumatic,” Graves told WXIN. “He wasn’t moving. I figured he was dead.”

“We seen a figure, at first we didn’t think it was a person, we thought it, you know, they had been tossing volleyballs and different stuff around the crowd,” Steven Neeley, who also attended the concert, told WTHR-TV. “But when you heard the thud twice, then we knew it was a person.

“You could hear the audible gasps over the music playing.”

Mötley Crüe has been touring with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, according to the band’s website.
