A North Carolina woman won $2 million on a scratch-off game in October -- two months after winning $1 million in a different promotion, lottery officials said.

Kenya Sloan, 41, of Shelby, bought her second lucky ticket from Esha Food Mart in her hometown, according to a news release from NC Education Lottery officials. It was the first time she had played the $20 Diamond Dazzler game and it produced the grand prize winner, according to WSOC-TV.

Two months earlier, Sloan won $1 million playing the Carolina Jackpot scratch-off game -- also for the first time -- lottery officials said.

“I was like, ‘No way this happened again,’” Sloan said in a statement. “But it did.”

“I was just standing there in shock. I just feel blessed. That’s all I can say.”

Sloan decided to take a lump-sum amount of $1.2 million for her latest win, lottery officials said. After state and federal taxes, she netted $855,006.

After her first win, Sloan said she wanted to buy a house, according to lottery officials. She had bought land and the home was nearly complete when she hit the jackpot again.

Sloan said she will use her latest windfall to fulfill a dream of opening a soul food restaurant, lottery officials said.

The two-time winner still is incredulous at her good fortune.

“I told some of my family members and they couldn’t believe it either,” Sloan said in a statement.
