The Sherwood Police Department said the incident happened at CHI St. Vincent Hospital on Wednesday but did not release any other details.

Update 1:40 p.m. EDT Sept. 28: KTHV is reporting that hospital employees can go back inside the facility, but one floor is still shut down.

The Associated Press reported that one person was shot and police have a person of interest in custody.

Police did not say if the person who was killed was an employee, a patient or a visitor, the AP reported.

Original report: The New Orleans field office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it is also responding, but also did not give any details.

Hospital spokesperson Josh Cook told KTHV that a “suspected incident” put the building into lockdown.

Arkansas State Police called it a “tactical response,” but didn’t provide details, KTHV reported.

Local media reports are showing videos of hospital employees and patients coming out of the building.

One man told KARK that his father was in surgery at the hospital when the “active shooter” alert was announced.
