HOUSTON — Two people have died and three are hurt after gunfire erupted overnight in North Houston, Texas, authorities said.
According to KPRC and KHOU, the incident occurred shortly after midnight Monday on Whitney Street. Houston police initially responded to a Whataburger restaurant on North Freeway, where they found a man and woman who had been shot, authorities said. Investigators learned the shooting had occurred in a nearby neighborhood, where they discovered the bodies of two men, as well as another injured man, the news outlets reported.

Emergency crews rushed the three wounded victims to a nearby hospital, where their condition is unknown, according to the news outlets.
No further information about the shooting, including the victims’ names or possible suspects, was immediately available.
