Tony Hawk and FedEx driver help make Georgia boy's dream come true

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — An Atlanta boy got a special shoutout and a new skateboard from his favorite athlete Tony Hawk -- all thanks to his FedEx driver.

The driver, who posted the story on Imgur under the username mcoulter876, said he was on his delivery route in Suwannee, Georgia, when a boy around 7 years old came running up to his truck.

The little boy chased down his FedEx driver and asked him to deliver something to Tony Hawk. No one expected what happened next 🛹❤️

“He’s like, ‘Excuse me! Excuse me!’ so I pull over and I’m like, ‘Hey man, what’s up?’ And he’s like, ‘Can you mail something for me?’" the driver said.

He said the boy, whose name is Cooper, then gave him a skateboard and asked him if he could send it to Hawk. The board had Cooper’s name written on one end and Hawk’s on the other.

“His mom comes outside and kinda winks and is like, ‘Yeah, make sure you get it to Tony Hawk,’” the driver wrote in his post.

Not knowing Hawk’s address, the driver decided to take it to the internet to see what he could do. He posted a video on Imgur that has now gone viral. Thousands of people watched the video, including Hawk himself.

Hawk responded to the video, thanking Cooper for the skateboard and sending the driver his address so that the driver could put it in the mail.

He then told Cooper that as a thank you, he would be sending Cooper his skateboard, “The one that I’m riding right now,” Hawk said.

“Thanks buddy. I hope to meet you sometime,” Hawk said as he closed out the video.
