Be aware of fake ticket scams ahead of Steelers-Bills Sunday night showdown

If you’re looking to score last-minute tickets to cheer on the Steelers against the Bills in a Sunday Night Football showdown, you could become a scam victim if you’re buying off of places like Craigslist and Facebook.

Officials with the Pittsburgh Steelers are warning fans ahead of the game their best bet to make sure they’re actually purchasing a real ticket is to use reputable sources such as Ticketmaster and Stubhub.

Team officials said several new ticket scams include Craigslist and fans being required to use prepaid gift cards or Apple Pay to “purchase” their tickets. Once the “purchase” is made, an email is sent that appears to be from Ticketmaster, too.

With the new mobile ticketing service, team officials said no legitimate ticket will be printed on paper from home.
