NCAA men's basketball tournament takes place in Pittsburgh this week

PITTSBURGH,None — The first two rounds of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament will take place this week at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.  Duquesne University is the host of the big event.

The games will take place on Thursday and Saturday.

Thursday’s match-ups:

  • Syracuse (No. 1 seed) vs. North Carolina Asheville (No. 16 seed)
  • Ohio State (No. 2 seed) vs. Loyola (No. 15 seed)
  • Kansas State (No. 8 seed) vs. Southern Miss (No. 9 seed)
  • Gonzaga (No. 7 seed) vs. West Virginia (No. 10 seed)

West Virginia will play just 75 miles from the team’s campus and is expected to draw a lot of fans.

Tickets to the tourney could cost fans more than $1,000. They range in price based on seat location on StubHub and eBay.

Pitt, a team that usually dances, didn’t make the tournament after a tough season.

Syracuse, Kentucky, North Carolina and Michigan State are the No. 1 seeds in the tourney.
