Andrew McCutchen, who roamed center field at PNC Park from 2009-2017, was the catalyst for ending the team’s record-breaking losing streak in 2013.

He won MVP that season and led the Pirates to an NLDS appearance. The Pirates returned to the playoffs three straight years during his peak, and he was traded to San Francisco after the 2017 season.

Here’s how MLB.com described McCutchen:

“He was the best of what they once were (2013 MVP!), and a reminder of what they hope to be again.”
