PITTSBURGH — Pirates officials announced Friday they are expanding the protective netting at PNC Park.
Today, the Pirates announced new safety measures at both PNC Park and LECOM Park.

The team said the new netting system will stretch nearly the full length of the first and third base foul lines “to allow for a safer viewing environment.”
The netting was also expanded at their stadium in Florida where they play during Spring Training.
The Pirates were among the first teams in Major League Baseball to extend netting from the start of the dugouts to the end of the dugouts back in 2017.
