PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed outfielder Melky Cabrer to a minor league deal, the team announced on Monday.
Cabrera, 34, played for the Cleveland Indians in 2018, where he his .280 with 17 doubles, six home runs and 39 RBI in 78 games played.
Pittsburgh will be Cabrera's eighth Major League team. He also played for the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians.
Cabrera is the 2012 All-Star Game MVP.
