PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte has reportedly been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Outfielder Starling Marte has been traded from the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Arizona Diamondbacks, sources tell ESPN.

The Pirates report they received Liover Peguero and right-handed pitcher Brennan Malone in exchange for Marte.

Peguero, 19, was ranked as the Diamondbacks fifth-best prospect according to FanGraphs and was ranked as seventh-best by Baseball America.
Malone, also 19, was one of the top pitchers in the 2019 Draft. He was drafted 33rd overall that year.
Marte took to social media after news of the trade broke, posting a heartfelt goodbye to Pirates fans.
Brenna Malone also took to social media to say he’s excited to join the Pirates organization.
