A high school kicker is using his feet to raise money for cancer research.
Nick Morrow, a senior at Moon Area High School, launched a fundraiser asking people to donate money for every point he scores this season for the Tigers.
It’s the second year he’s led a fundraiser, after raising more than $1,500 last year in honor of children of his father’s work colleagues.
This year, the inspiration is his friend Sean Nolan, who was diagnosed with cancer last year.
“We all have felt the uncertainty and worry of someone we love being diagnosed with cancer,” Morrow wrote on his Kick-it.org page
, where the fundraiser is based. “That feeling is especially magnified when that loved one is a child.”
His goal is $2,500, and he’s already raised $765 after the Tigers topped Ambridge 34-6 on Aug. 25, a game in which Morrow kicked four extra points and two field goals.
