Channel 11 speaks with Kenny Pickett ahead of second NFL season at Steelers OTAs

PITTSBURGH — Some familiar faces were back on the South Side Tuesday for organized team activities, including Steelers Quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Channel 11′s Jenna Harner spoke with Pickett about how he’s feeling heading into year two.

There’s no denying Pickett has one thing on his mind coming into the season: winning.

The second-year quarterback is locked in on continuing to grow within the offense. He knows there are a lot of expectations, not only for him but for the team as a whole, to take a step forward from where they finished last season.

Pickett said they’re having a lot of fun as things get going, but that the team is there to work.

“It’s fun, but it’s competitive. That’s why I said I don’t care that it’s just spring and everyone’s you know, it’s OTAs I get that but you know, we don’t want to lose a rep out there and neither does the defense,” Pickett said. “So when the ball gets spotted, it’s time to go. So I think that the attitude is there. It’s right. You know, guys are putting in a lot of work so they want to go out there and be successful. So it’s been fun to play out there just for one day.”

11 News asked a couple of players about Pickett’s leadership style. They summed it up perfectly, saying he’s the type of guy you want to play hard for and win with.
