A day after signing third-round draft pick Alex Highsmith to his rookie deal, the Steelers have gotten three more picks under contract.
Second-round pick Chase Claypool, fourth-round selection Anthony McFarland and sixth-round pick Antoine Brooks also announced on social media that they signed their rookie deals, giving the Steelers all but two of their 2020 class under contract.
Claypool, who was the team’s top pick in the draft this year, was the 49th player selected in the draft. The Steelers did not have a first-round draft pick, having sent that to the Dolphins to acquire Minkah Fitzpatrick.
A 6-foot-4, 238-pound wide receiver, Claypool caught 150 passes for 2,159 yards and 19 touchdowns at Notre Dame.
He is expected to be in the mix for the third- or fourth-receiver spot as a rookie.
