Pittsburgh —

Facing a chance to go 10-0 for the first time in team history, the NFL is not the only place that the Pittsburgh Steelers are sitting on top.

In the ranking of the highest-paid Pittsburgh-area professional athletes, the five highest-paid players are Steelers. Among the 37 players with contracts of $2 million or more for 2020, 17 played for the Steelers, 13 for the Pittsburgh Penguins and seven for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The ranking is based on current season pay (not salary cap hit) and National Football League signing and restructuring bonuses are included in the year they are paid. Data is for the 2020 NFL season, for the 2019-20 National Hockey League season and for the 2020 Major League Baseball season.
