Steelers place Tuitt, Banner, McFarland on IR

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers finalized 53 man roster changed less than 24 hours after it was announced.

Team officials announced that offensive lineman Zach Banner, running back Anthonry McFarland Jr. and defensive end Stephon Tuitt were put on the Resevered/Injured List ahead of the team’s first game.

With these three spots now open, the team brought back offensive lineman Rashaad Coward and B.J. Finney and cornerback Arthur Maulet.

Joe Haden to test free agency after season

Cornerback Joe Haden’s agent said he plans to test the waters of free agency at the end of the current football season.

Haden’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said he has approached the Steelers about a contract extension, but the team declined to negotiate. The 32-year-old has been the Steelers best cornerback for the last few seasons and enters his fifth season with the team. He joined in 2017, a day after a being suddenly released by the Cleveland Browns.
